Weekend Open Mic

Weather: Warm, wet and cool coming up this week. we’re getting a bit more
“spring type” weather this year than we have in recent years. It seemed to go from chilly to hot in the matter of a week or so in years past.

The week: My wife is doing well two-and-a-half weeks after knee surgery. She graduated from a walker to a cane this week. She goes to the doctor on Wednesday for her 3-week checkup. If it goes as it did after her first knee replacement she’ll be able to go back to work part-time. Not much else is going on around here.

TV: We’re still watching Billions (Showtime) and just started on season 4 of Handmaid’s Tale (HULU). I’m about done watching Manifest as it’s just getting too ‘out-there’ for me.

Weather: After a week that included a record cold night or two in the St. Louis area, things are warming up.

The week: My wife is improving after her second knee replacement a week and a half ago. We both agree that this one wasn’t quite as bad as the first one was. Not that it was a picnic by any means, this time it just seemed easier. She’s getting around better with her walker and will move to a cane next Thursday if things continue as expected.

TV: We really haven’t watched anything new, still catching up on the same shows. I always enjoy watching the Oscars which will air this Sunday evening on ABC.

Weather: Cool spring weather in the forecast this coming week.

The week: My wife had her second knee replacement on Wednesday (her first one was done last October). The first few days are always the hardest so we should start seeing slow improvement after the weekend. Having said that, she and I both think this one wasn’t quite as bad as the first one, not that it’s not rough. The pain meds make her sleep much of the time and they make her quite confused. So, we really don’t have any plans for the coming week except sleeping, a bit of physical therapy, and laying low.

TV: We’re still watching Billions (Prime), City Of Angels (Showtime), This Is Us (NBC) A Million Little Things (ABC), The Connors (ABC) and a couple of other shows. We did see the series final of Shameless (Showtime). There were some characters and storylines I didn’t care for but I still thought it was a good show and I liked the almost inevitable conclusion in the finale.

Weather: Looks like a fairly mild week coming up after a bit of rain on Saturday. Not bad at all for April.

The week: We’re going to dinner with friends on Saturday. Not much else planned for the weekend.
My wife gets her other knee replaced on Wednesday so it should be a rough few days after that. Hopefully, by next weekend she’ll start feeling a little better and we’ll see small improvements every day.

TV: Still watching the same shows: Billions (Prime), City On A Hill (Showtime), and a bit of Outlander (Netflix). The series finale of Shameless airs Sunday night. It had a couple of questionable seasons and a couple of characters I didn’t care for but overall I’m glad I watched it from day one. We’re still watching This Is Us (NBC), A Million Little Things (ABC) and a couple of other shows.

Weather: Looks like summertime here in the Midwest.

The week: We plan on working in the yard this weekend. We’re trying to get things around the house organized before my wife has her second knee replacement in about a week and a half. Not much else going on. We’re not really having any family Easter gathering this weekend.

TV: We’re still watching the same shows this week: Billions (Prime), City On A Hill (Showtime), and Outlander (Netflix), along with our regular TV favorites.

Weather: A little rain a little heat, a little chill… welcome to a week in St. Louis.

The week: I had a colonoscopy this past Wednesday. No polyps discovered so I get to wait 5 years for another one. Fun times!
Had both covid vaccine shots and have had the two-week waiting period so we’re now considered fully vaccinated.
We’re going to be with some family members on Saturday and Sunday for a while. Not much else going on.

TV: We’re still watching Outlander (Netflix), Billions (Prime), and just started watching City On A Hill (Showtime). Spending most of the time on Billions.

Weather: A decent start to spring on Saturday. The upcoming week doesn’t look too bad either.

The week: Nothing really planned for the weekend yet. Might do a little work around the house. I’m getting a colonoscopy this coming Wednesday so Tuesday will be fun (NOT).

TV: We finished season 1 of both Outlander (Netflix) and Billions (Prime). Haven’t watched much else except the usual stuff we watch: This Is Us, The Unicorn, A Million Little Things, The Connors, Kenan, The Walking Dead, and Talking Dead (which I like better than TWD).  There are probably a couple of other shows that I can’t think of at the moment.

Weather: Kind of damp and a bit cooler this coming week which I guess is about average for this time of year.

The Week: I got my second Covid vaccination shot on Tuesday. I only had minor side effects the next day. ➜

We’re going to a St. Pat’s Bonfire Party on Saturday afternoon/evening.

TV: We watched the Eddie Murphy movie Coming 2 America (Prime).

We also started watching Billions (Showtime or Prime) that someone suggested, about a guy who makes billions in the world of high finance and the (kinky) US attorney that’s obsessed with trying to bring him down. I don’t understand all the high finance jargon but I’m getting into the characters. And there’s enough titillating naughtiness to help keep it interesting.

Weather: After a fairly decent week for the end of February, the first week of March doesn’t look too bad either.

The week: Nothing much planned for the coming week. The rec center in my neighborhood finally opened back up so this week I started going back there to walk the track. I only walk 10 laps which is almost a mile and I work out on a couple of machines. I can tell I’m out of shape by how tired I feel when I get done. But, hey, it’s a start.

TV: We finished season 3 and re-watched season 2 of The Sinner (Netflix) with Bill Pullman. We also watched season 1 of Firefly Lane (Netflix). There will likely be a season 2 but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. If there is another season we’d probably watch it. We also got back to watching Outlander Friday night.

Weather: Cold and snow and ice suck!

My week: BRRR! Mostly just staying home except for an occasional trip to the store. Might try to take a drive this cold weekend before snow arrives again on Sunday. Got an appointment for a Covid vaccination on Tuesday.

TV: Still watching Outlander (Netflix). We also started watching the new season of The Sinner (Netflix). We knew we’d seen the first two seasons but couldn’t remember anything about them so we started watching season two also. It’s a really good show with Bill Pullman who plays a detective.
