Weekend Open Mic

Weather: What appears to be the last bits of summer will take us to the official last day of summer, as Wednesday kicks off the fall season with cooler weather.

The week: I have a busy week ahead working on a video program for an organization I belong to which is happening next weekend. We’ll try to slip in a dinner with friends and maybe a movie one night too.
I’m still having some issues with my back and one of my two feet, but I’m a little better than I was last weekend. I’ve upped my anti-inflammatory meds for a week to see if that helps.

TV: We finished Clickbait (Netflix) a couple of nights ago. It’s good and has some twists to it. We started on the newest season of Lucifer (Netflix) but I think it jumped the shark for me when it became a cartoon, literally a cartoon. Not sure I’ll continue with it. I think I’ll be looking for something else.

Weather: After a slightly cooler few days it looks like summer is still hanging on in the St. Louis area. But some leaves are just beginning to fall and things will be changing soon.

9/11: Today is a somber day as we reflect on the tragedy of September 11, 2001. 20 years later it still hurts.

The week: We had planned to take a few days off next week and travel out west but for a few reasons we’ve decided to postpone our trip. One of the reasons is that I tweaked my back on Thursday and I’m hobbling around like the old man that I am, or even like a much older man.

We’re going to help out Saturday night at a trivia night (like I’ll be a lot of help) and having the family over on Sunday for a birthday celebration.

TV: We’re still watching The Walking Dead, Ted Lasso weekly and are about 5 or 6 episodes in on Click Bait (Netflix).

Computer: I purchased a new computer this week and I’ve been setting it up and transferring files from the old computer for a few days. My old computer was freezing up when I was working on video editing. The new one should work much better.

Weather: Starting out September a little warm but definitely cooler than the last few weeks have been.

The week: Having a delayed (by 1 year due to the pandemic) wedding party on Saturday. Nothing planned for Sunday or Labor Day Monday. Going to a Sex, Drugs & Rock N’ Roll Trivia night next weekend.

TV: We finished The Chair (Netflix) starring Sandra Oh. We’re continuing to watch Tedd Lasso (Apple TV+) as the episodes come out weekly. I really like Ted Lasso. We’re also watching the final season of The Walking Dead and Talking Dead (AMC) weekly. We’re a few episodes into Hit And Run (Netflix) and it’s pretty interesting.

Weather: Looks like we’ve got a warm week coming up with temps in the upper 90s and high humidity. I’m ready for a bit of fall weather.

The week: We’re going to the Cardinals baseball game on Saturday and we have a family birthday dinner gathering mid-week. Other than that, not much is happening.

TV: We watched a couple more episodes of This Is Pop (Netflix) and Ted Lasso (Apple+). We’re also watching the second season of Outer Banks (Netflix).

Weather: A decent weekend after a pretty warm week that ended in storms Thursday night. A slightly cooler week ahead. I’ll spend the weekend in Kansas City but I think the weather will be similar there.

The week: We’ll be visiting my brother in Kansas City this weekend but not much else planned until next weekend when we’re going to a Cardinals baseball game.

TV: Haven’t watched much this week, but found some good episodes of This Is Pop (Netflix) a series about pop music. We also are watching Ted Lasso (Apple+ weekly) and enjoy that.

Weather: After several days with milder temperatures and much lower humidity the new week starts out as a rather typical August week – higher temperatures and higher humidity.

The week: The weekend starts out busy for us as we’re working our 36th somewhat annual mud volleyball tournament.  Next weekend we’re going to visit my brother in Kansas City.

TV: We started watching Ted Lasso (Apple+) and watched a couple of episodes of Heist (Netflix).  It’s been a rather busy week, so not a lot of TVing going on.

Weekend Open Mic

Weather: After a pretty hot week the coming week will cool off a bit which is unusual for the first week of August.

The week: Not much planned except we’re getting ready for our annual mud volleyball tournament which is next Saturday. I don’t do as much as I used to do with it but I still do a lot of prep stuff.

TV: We finished watching Lupin (Netflix) Friday night. Still have some episodes of Heist (Netflix), and haven’t started the second season of Ted Lasso (Apple+) yet, but hopefully we will this week. I do want to mention a series we watched that we really enjoyed, The Movies That Made Us (Netflix) which takes 8 big box office films and tells the story of how they got made and almost not made in some cases. It was very interesting and they found a way to put some humor into the series. Very interesting.

Websites: I’ve had a small number of readers that have been having some images not show up. I’ve been messing with some plugins to see if there is a conflict when I have time. It’s hard for me to troubleshoot it because the images show up for me.

Weather: St. Louis summer. Nuff said!

The week: Nothing much planned except we’re having some family over for pizza and games to celebrate my birthday on Saturday.

TV: We watched McCartney 3,2,1 (HULU). Mc Cartney and barefooted music producer Rick Rubin do a thorough 6-part ‘who, where and why analysis’ of McCartney’s music including his time with the Beatles. Excellent!
* We watched Gunpowder Milkshake (Netflix). (To protect an 8-year-old girl, a dangerous assassin reunites with her mother and her lethal associates to take down a ruthless crime syndicate and its army of henchmen.)
* We’re also midway through Heist (Netflix) a docu-series about big money heists.
* Finally, we’re also midway through LUPIN (Netflix) about a guy trying to exact revenge on the guy who framed his father.
* Coming up: We’ll be watching the new season of Ted Lasso (Apple+) and hopefully some of the Olympic games.

Weather: After a pretty wet week it looks like it’s gonna be fairly dry this coming week, and not too hot until later in the week.

The week: Nothing much planned for the weekend or upcoming week.

TV: We watched the new season of Virgin River (Netflix), a romantic light-drama with some really pretty scenery. We also watched Summer of Soul (HULU) which was excellent until about the last 10 minutes or so when they showed activists trying to rile-up the crowd with talk about protesting and killing. That ruined it for me.

Weather: A wet weekend followed by typical summer weather which leads into another wet weekend.

The week: Not much planned this week except dinner with friends on Sunday.

TV: We finally finished Schitt’s Creek (Netflix), then we caught up with The Handmaid’s Tale (HULU) and will start watching the new season of Virgin River (Netflix).
