I don’t mind you plugging your site or your personal cause, whatever it is as long as you’re a reader and contributor here. I ask that you don’t do it repeatedly. I will delete blatant spam comments. I also ask that you keep your comments fairly clean and civil. I will not allow name calling and personal attacks. Violation of these guidelines could get you banned from the site.
If you have something to say but don’t know where to say it, or it’s not really pertinent to a particular post, say it here.
If you want to send me a suggestion of something to post send it to jonco@bitsandpieces.us.
What’s on your mind?
Jonco I went to six flags but I didnt do the virtual ride because it was 15 per person so x4 thats 60 bucks to ride it one time I would have done it if it was more that one time on it
I guess they have to pay for that high-tech somehow. But… I thought Six Flags was one admission price and all the rides were free. I haven’t been to Six Flags in several years. Has that changed?
the rides are free with admission but special or limited time things like the virtual thing are extra the fright fest things are also extra
OK. Thanks
good news everybody hooters now has new york strip and baked potato and mac and cheese,Oh my it is very good.
Does anyone really go to Hooters for the food?
in the past no but it took them 30 years to update the menu and get with the program
For the coconutshrimp! Appetizer then go 🙂
we go to Hooters for their raw oysters. – they also have a very good spinach/shrimp salad.
Hooters has food?!?
I go there occasionally for the food. Not that the scenery isn’t OK too.
I’ve had a few medical issues I mentioned here and in this Open Mic.
I called my doctor and sent him my blood pressure numbers for the last 5 days. He’s going to make a slight adjustment in my meds and wants me to call him if there are any drastic changes. I’ll be having blood work done this Friday and I’ll be in touch with him early next week.
Please take care of yourself!!!
I’ve never been to Hooters.
Like a Third World noob, lost among the glittering, baffling wonders of the west.
they have locations all over the world ,try it sometime tell them I sent you
How do you “log in” to B&P?
Just put in your name and email address. It will be remembered next time you post. Remember what you used in case your cookies get wiped. If you want to use an image next to you name go here, create an account, then add an image and use the same email you used for here.
There is no “log In” per se, but comments from first-time commenters are held for moderation. One we see them and determine that you’re not a spammer or a bot, your comment is approved and future comments are posted immediately. Or they should be. We’ve had a couple of instances where a regular commenter’s comments were repeatedly held for moderation. That is very rare, though.
If you’re in the mood to watch some scary Christmas movies you can find some on Cytube. Here’s the schedule.
The fact that it’s already December is plenty scary enough.
Totally! Nothing I find more scary than… CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!!!
Edit: I’m in the Cytube video-chat right now. ScaryDude’s the name. Watching Jack Frost. Silly movie.
Edit 2: Oooh, gross! Throbbing brains. That’s the name of my new band!
Thanks for the help. Merry Christmas from a cold, dark and damp UK. 🙂
Did you hear the explosion, Jonco?
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_ST_LOUIS_BOILER_EXPLOSION
No, I’m a half hour away from there. A 1.5-ton rocket shaped piece of the boiler shot through the roof of the plant and flew 500 feet before crashing into another business and killed two people there who were just starting their very first day of working there.
BTW, I couldn’t get your link to work. Here’s a link for a local TV station.
3 dead, 4 injured in boiler explosion at Soulard box company
YOO HOO! Are you there, Bella? hcmom? Been a loooong time for a visit to The Lounge. [Had to raise $$ for the Cover Charge to get back in.]
Hello, mary!!! Silly you, the thing guarding the door takes hugs as payments, if you’re willing, or even a quick chin skritch!
Awwww, that’s cute! Whatchoo all been doing in The Lounge these days?
Well, I just got home (to California) from Utah. Had a lovely camping and hang gliding trip. Now I have 8 days of Bits and Pieces to catch up on!
So… today I did something that to me is super exciting, and I need to share. I booked a day tour in Russia!!! It’s part of a larger trip I’m doing at the end of the month, with a group of people I regularly travel with, and the entire trip is pretty damn exciting.
That is exciting! For only one day? Which part/city are you going to?
Mary, we only went to St. Petersburg, mostly the very very VERY crowded Hermitage Museum, and Peterhof Palace.
The entire trip was two weeks, and included a couple days in Iceland, and then Stockholm, from where we took a trip to some Northern Baltic countries, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia, as well as our Russia day. After the cruise we took a train from Stockholm to Copenhagen, and had a couple days there, as well.
I tried to post links to my Facebook albums for Iceland, but the site thinks it’s spam, so I can’t.
If you want to find me on FB, you can look at my albums without joining FB, or friending me, if you’d like:

Heads up to anyone who needs storage space for their computer, Best Buy currently has an 8 TB external drive for $199. That’s a pretty smokin’ deal.
I have decided that I really don’t like the random post column. I will sometimes get about halfway thru when it disappears and some other random stuff comes up. Irritating.
You could click the title if it seems interesting… or I could just extend the time it is on screen. That might be the better thing to try.
It took me quite a while to even notice the random post column. I kept seeing something disappear, but I couldn’t figure out what was going on. 🙂
I adjusted the time it takes for it to switch to 3 minutes. It was set to 1 minute.
1st a typhoon [again], and now, the Philippines are evacuating due to Mount Mayon lava flows. Anyone hear if Xalaskan is in the clear?
I sent him an email asking if he’s okay. I’ll post here if I receive a response.
I received a reply. xalaskan is okay. He writes:
thanks for thinking of me!
I guess Mount Mayon finally blew and around 200,000 people are scrambling. Fortunately for me, the volcano is around 300 miles north of my little island of Negros and we were not affected.
I haven’t been posting anything lately as my old outdated mac doesn’t function properly on most of todays more modern internet sites, I’ll learn more about Mayon when I read todays Manila Bulletin and let you know, I still visit B&P, but can’t post.
An update…
The volcano did not ‘blow’ as feared, but it did erupt with a dazzling display of lava spewing out of the top, The biggest concern now is all of the evacuees that are away from home and waiting for it to settle down.
“A ‘major eruption’ may not happen” is what the Manila Bulletin said. Tourists are starting to flock in for photos.
Take care,
xalaskan
Thanks for following up on that, Jonco. I really love how much smaller the internet has made the world, but having more friends sometimes means more worry.
Probably worth it, though.
Whew! That’s good to hear that he’s ok. I will be sure to keep the name of his island handy so i can look it up next time. Then, I giggled — because I really don’t anyone other than “X” in the Philippines. And I so get an F in the geography of the islands. I giggled because It’s like asking someone you’ve just met “Hey, you live in that exotic land! Great! Say, do you know Bob So-and-So?” And I SMH. At myself.
