On of my favorite movie scenes is when he and Adam Sandler fight in “Happy Gilmore”–cracks me up every time I watch it.
“as close as possible” for certain values of “possible”?
December 12, 1923 – August 26, 2023 leaves out quite a few days… e.g. Prince Philip was closer.
Of course, if you only count full years…
Louis is joking about something that happens on the show “The Price is Right.” On that show, there are two “Showcase Showdowns” where the competitors spin a wheel and try to get to one dollar without going over. Whoever gets that closest gets to try to win a boatload of prizes in the showcase at the end of the episode. Two winners get to compete for the showcases. If someone spins one dollar, they win and get $1,000.00; if they get to one dollar by adding the results of two spins, I do not think they get the $1,000.00.
Louis does get it wrong because Bob could have still “won” at 100.
Yes, I watched too much “The Price is Right” as a kid.
RIP, Bob.
