  1. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter were always at Grandmas with a varying cast of kin. Sometimes I would be told to eat at the kids table in the kitchen if it was a big crowd. I’d frown, my mother and grandmother felt bad, but secretly I loved it, with no politics or other abrasive conversations.
