Weather: Starting October with a little wet and a little warm weather. It’s a few degrees warmer than average for these parts, but some leaves are starting to fall. They say that peak foliage will be in the last week of October in my area.

The week: Trying to catch up on some stuff that I put off the last couple of weeks. Having some family over on Saturday for lunch and to play cards. Sunday we’re probably going to go to the movies.
Buster has had some skin allergies and he’s been to the vet a few times in the last month or so. He now has an inflamed ear that we’re treating.
TV: Like above we’re trying to catch up on some stuff we recorded, like The Walking Dead, Ted Lasso, A Million Little Things, and a couple of others.
That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?
Chaos deals with skin allergies constantly. It’s horrible. We do a regimen of baths which she despises, and medication. I’ve finally learned to grind up the meds using a mortar and pestle and hide it in her food. None of the old tricks work on her, she can pick a pill out of anything I wrap it in and spit it on the floor. We’ve tried numerous foods as well, she’s allergic to poultry, so I finally found one that is poultry free and doesn’t break the bank. The best thing so far is a shot called cytopoint, for her weight it was about $100. But it kept her skin clear for about 3 – 4 months.
Buster had been on Apoquel and it worked well for months. Then it just stopped working. He got a shot, but I’m not sure what it was. It was fairly expensive but I don’t think it was $100 but was only supposed to last about a month. It didn’t seem to help much. They put him on steroids and that helped for a while but he became a pissing world champion and even though he has an automatic door that opens when he nears it, he decided to pee under a table about 6 ft away from the door. Plus he gained a few pounds while on the steroids.
Then this past week he started shaking his head a lot so I took him back to the vet. His ear was all red and they said it was from his allergies. They gave him some ear drops. So we’re trying Apoquil again for the allergies (it’s about $2.60 a pill). His ear seems to be better after a few days.
We’re starting October with temps in the mid-90s, and super dry. We did have a cooler week last week, at least.
While you have your family for lunch, I’d rather have peanut butter sammies and potato chips.
I made chili in the Instant Pot. It wasn’t quite as good as when I make it on the stove.
Squid Games is awesome.
I never heard of Squid Games, so I looked up the trailer. Looks a little weird.
It’s 9 episodes. Bloody and violent, and a scathing commentary on capitalism. Reports are that it will be the most watched Netflix series to date.
