Weekend Open Mic

Weather: Temperatures aren’t bad for this time of year. The local meteorologists say that we’re heading into a rainy period with possible spring thunderstorms later this coming week.

The week ahead: We’re doing dinner with friends on Saturday evening. Then visiting with family on Sunday.

I get my second Covid vaccination on Tuesday. I had a mild reaction to the first shot so I’m expecting the second one to knock me down for a day or two as it has many others. But, I’m okay with that in order to get the protection it offers.

TV: We’re continuing to catch a few episodes a week of Outlander (Netflix). We watched the Movie Nomadland (Netflix) starring Frances McDormand.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?

  1. I’m glad you were able to get both doses. I was able to as well. I think I was only able to because I work for the local Health Department and we are still seeing people. I haven’t had any reaction whatsoever to either dose. I know a couple of my co-workers had a bit of soreness and one of them got a bit ill with her second dose.
I’m super glad I got them, now that our oh so smart governor has decided no one needs a mask any longer. Just in time for Spring Break. Yee Haw!

  2. I watched quite a few episodes of Outlander until the one where I couldn’t watch anymore… my recommendation is to quit before you get to it.

  3. I fell in to watching “Leverage”. This is a show that, I believe, was on TNT 2008-2012. I am watching it on IMDB TV–yes, I am cheap so I look for the sites that broadcast shows for free.

I have not gotten the vaccine yet, but I know others that have. Seems like there are some that will feel the effects and others that will not.

    • I watched Leverage start to finish. I stumbled on the first episode and when I got to “Twenty pounds of crazy in a five-pound bag” I was hooked.

  4. Here in Ireland we are so slow in getting the vaccine out to people. So far only 70’s, healthcare workers, and care homes have received it.
My Mam and Dad who are both 78 have not even received their first dose

    From a news article:

As of March 4th, a total of 346,256 people in the Republic of Ireland had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 147,617 had received their second dose.

Some 165,376 of these vaccines had gone to people in long term residential care facilities, while 245,815 had gone to frontline healthcare workers and 82,093 had gone to people over the age of 70.
