I am sure that a lot of people laughed derisively when they saw a horse drawn wagon delivering petrol to a stranded automobile that ran out back in the day.
But the point of the automobile was not to eliminate the horse, although they were happy to cut down the horse manure in the cities and towns.
Regardless of the sophistication of electric cars they’ll never overcome human stupidity.
If electric cars are successful, charging stations will be as common place as filling stations are now. That will render the need for the above rig non-existent. There will also likely be small battery packs that can get a stranded vehicle to the nearest charging station. The necessary support infrastructure will be built.
The ICE powered cars took some time to get all the bugs worked out and the same will be the case for electric cars.

there is NO reason for ANYONE to run out of juice nowadays
It would be funnier if that was a POS Tesla. Then again, I believe if you charge a Tesla that way the batteries will explode.
