  1. Almost. I have met a few people here and on other social media who did not agree with some of my beliefs. For whatever reasons, they found it easier to cease communicating, rather than being tolerant of different points of view. C’est la vie!

Of course opinions are for things like “Star Wars is overrated” or “I think tea tastes better than coffee” — not things like “white people are superior to all other people” or “COVID-19 is a hoax, so wearing a mask is stupid.” Opinions never, ever, ever overrule facts, and opinions are never as valid as evidence-based reality. Tolerance is never required for a belief or actions that are evil or repugnant — we should never be “tolerant” of people who spew hatred and lies; allowing them to do so unchecked is to be complicit. Being “tolerant” of people who march with torches and chant Nazi slogans or cops who say they can’t wait to “slaughter” black people is flat out evil and should never be tolerated in a friend.
