Weekend Open Mic

Weather: Summer is definitely here in the Midwest. Hot and Wet.

The week:  A couple of outings planned but mostly just staying at home. I’ve had a couple of rough weeks since I threw my back out two weekends ago.  It’s been getting slowly better each day.  I still can’t stay on my feet for too long or I really start aching.  I did a lot more stuff on Friday and I can tell it’s better.

TV: We finished up the available seasons of Last Tango in Halifax (Netflix) 8/10. Then we started on Marcella (Netflix).  We had watched the first season a long time ago but couldn’t remember it so we started at the beginning again.  We’re just a few episodes in.

Drone:  I crashed my drone the other day.  That damn flag pole jumped right out in front of me!  I sent it off to the drone hospital for repairs.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?

    • Thanks, Kevin. For some reason, my shoulder is giving me more trouble than my back today. I didn’t do anything to hurt it, that I know of. It sucks getting old.

      • I wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t wake up in pain every morning. And it just gets worse as the day progresses. Let’s me know I’m alive. What amuses me is I got guys on the jobsite who are only in their forties and already taking painkillers. Wait until they’re my age.

BTW: Dude’s Gofundme is up to $73,763. I wish some Karen would ruin my day.

  1. Horry County South Carolina had over 200 covid cases in one day! The beaches are packed the campgrounds are sold out for weeks to come. From what I understand people are packing the bars. Needless to say I’m amazed. If you had a thousand Skittles in a dish and 3 of them could kill you, would you eat any?

  2. I crashed my drone into an antenna guy wire a few years ago. Oops. Hope your back feels better. Mine hasn’t bothered me in a couple years, my thing now is my shoulders. Getting old sucks but it’s better then being below dirt.

    • I was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease (DJD) many years ago. I was put on anti-inflammatory drugs and they did the trick. A few years ago my blood workup showed some kidney malfunction along with some ulcers that were both most likely attributed to the anti-inflammatory drugs. So they took me off of them and after they wore off I became pretty miserable. So the doctor let me go back to 1/4 of my previous dosage and that made the pain and discomfort go away. My blood workup numbers improved, too. So I think that’s what I’m experiencing now with my shoulder. I talked with my doctor and he told me I could increase the dosage for a short while to see if that helps.
I’m much better from throwing my back out two weeks ago. Still can’t stay on my feet for too long of a time, but I am slowly getting better in that regard.

  3. I thought I was a reasonably intelligent mammal, but my drone is teaching me otherwise.

I keep saying that I got a lemon, but so far all I can do is fly about three feet up, then flip it over 180 degrees to its back which slams it immediately back down the 3 feet into the ground. I can almost see a grey cloud over the thing every time I crash it lol.

I have to live vicariously and jealously thorough your drone videos 🙂
