Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery

A bird’s eye view of the cemetery on Memorial Day 2020. The usual placement of American flags on each of the 188,000+ graves did not take place this year because of the pandemic. It’s such a beautiful place, I wanted to share it.

As I was flying the overwhelming thought running through my head was that every one of those tombstones has a whole life story of a person with hopes and dreams and a grieving family left behind.

  1. Good music choice.

I always get so somber seeing all those graves lined up like that. Even more so seeing them from above like this. So very many. Sadly, Ft. Rosecrans is out of space, which is why they created another national cemetery at Miramar.
