Weekend Open Mic

Weather: A little rain, sleet, snow and very little sun this past week turns into more of the same in the coming week.

TV: We started watching The Stranger (Netflix) this week. We’re only a couple episodes in but I think it’s going to be good. I’ve recorded Tommy (CBS) because I like Edie Falco in everything I’ve seen her in. I haven’t watched it yet. We also watched the first episode of the new season of A Million Little Things (ABC).

Websites: I spent two or three days fairly stressed out as I migrated Bits & Pieces and Bits of Wisdom to a new host. It took 14 hours to move B&P because there were 59,300+ posts and 141,000+ comments to move. BoW took several hours to move its 10,000+ posts. A few of those posts on BoW didn’t make the transfer, but I’m sort of okay with that.
The sites seem to be loading faster and there is some fine-tuning I can try to see if I can get it working even better.

B&P Returns to Las Vegas: We’re just over 7 weeks away! We’d love to have you join us. See B&P Returns to Las Vegas 2020.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?

    • I’ve had the site switch themes (which make it look completely different) twice without my assistance. Not sure what that happens. If that’s what you experienced it should be the same on all the pages unless I happened to be messing with it at the same time. I’m still fine-tuning it.

  1. WTF??!! Now it’s fixed?!

Not sure how or what happened, but maybe you can explain why I have to “allow” myself to visit the site now?

  2. Are you guys ready for some football? Here’s the schedule. At least Jonco has a team playing in his town again. The St. Louis Battlehawks. What is a battlehawk? My hope is that the Wildcats get tired of that messed up town up north and move here after the first year like the Chargers did. I also hope the XFL does better than the AAF did last year. First game is today at 2pm eastern. Seattle Dragons vs. DC Defenders on ABC.

      • You gonna attend any of the games? I went to a couple Fleet games last year. Was lotsa fun. Felt more like a college football game though. Nowhere near as expensive as a Chargers game. Probably why the league folded.

        • I don’t know if I will or not. I only went to a couple of Rams games when they were here and the same with football Cardinals when they were here. I’d prefer to watch it on TV where I can see replays and such. I’m not saying ‘never’ but I don’t have tickets to any games, and there are only five home games.
