Weekend Open Mic

Weather: April showers and fluctuating temperatures are normal for this time of year in this part of the country.

The weekend:  We did our fifth trivia night in 6 or 7 weeks on Friday night.  It’s a lot of fun but I’m glad that’s over with.My riding mower has been in the shop for a tune-up this past week and it’s ready to be picked up.  And right on time as the grass is starting to get a little high in some places.

My patio room is about 3/4 drywalled.  I hope to get the rest done this weekend and can start the mudding process after that.  I’m thinking about redoing an adjoining wall that could use a replacement while the construction mess is already here.  If I decide to do that the process will take a little longer.

We’re going to a fundraiser dance on Saturday that benefits the Make-A-Wish foundation.  Other than that I expect to be home most of the weekend.

Website:  B&P is running well since I got the plugin issue fixed.  I got a lot of nice comments on Friday with it being the 15th anniversary of the website.  It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since I started it.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?

  1. Ahh, speaking of grass, reminds me of a joke.

A very rich man is cruising down the road in the back of his limousine when he spots a man and woman in a field eating the grass. He tells the driver to pull over so he can speak to them. He calls out to the man and asks why they are eating the grass, the man says they are too poor to afford food and grass is all they have. The rich man tells him to get in the limousine and bring his wife, he’ll take them back to his place. The man says but sir my 6 children are on the other side of the hill. No problem says the rich man, bring them also. But sir, my brother and his wife and their 8 children are here also, no problem the rich man says, they can all fit in this car. As they are driving back to the house, the poor man says he is very kind for doing this. The rich man says that he and his family came at a very opportune time, the grass at his house is over one foot tall.

  2. OK, I figured it out… duh. I have to change the amount on the front page before clicking “donate now”, because it’s then locked and can’t be changed on your page or paypal’s.

  3. New trailer for The Mummy, coming out June 9th. Reminds me of the Brendon Frasier Mummy but is supposed to kick off the new shared universe. I wonder if Tom will be showing up in the other movies? I love this rendition of Paint it Black, Westworld used a similar version in one of the episodes.
