  1. This was actually controlled by the CHP. They closed the road and allowed 20 mins. for this Fed-EX driver to display incredible guts and driving ability to control slide the truck, which had lost the trailer’s air brakes, to get to the next open shoulder to await a tow.
Facebook post by CHP: “The driver had jackknifed at the top of the grade,” the Facebook post said. “When the driver had lost it at the top of the hill, he had broke the air lines to his rear trailer. This caused the brakes on the rear trailer to lock up. We arrived on scene and were informed the tow was going to be extended. So we asked the driver if he could get himself going and we would give him space to get down to the next open shoulder on the Interstate.”

    • He did a hellova job! I have my air brake endorsement (for smaller trucks) and it looked like his back brakes were locked up. I woulda been pooping. He done good! Thank you for the full explanation. 😀
