Good Mornin’ – Singing In The Rain

Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O`Connor perform Good Mornin’ from the 1952  film Singing In The Rain.   Reynolds died on Wednesday, December 28, just one day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher died.

Reynolds, who was just 19 when the film was made had practiced for this for just a couple months before filming began.  She held her own pretty well while performing with the veteran singers and dancers O’Connor and Kelly.

10-year-old Kaylee Rogers – Hallelujah

Kaylee Rogers, a pupil at Killard House School in Donaghadee , Northern Ireland, was chosen to sing a special biblical version of the Leonard Cohen classic for the school’s festive end-of-year shows. The primary seven pupil, who has moderate learning difficulties, gave an emotional performance of the song at three Christmas concerts, supported by Killard’s middle school choir.

Weekend Open Mic

Weather: We’re ending the year a little above average in temperatures but it will be closer to normal as the week begins.

The weekend:  Don’t have any big New Year’s Eve party plans.  Might go to a movie and out to dinner and/or might visit with family and play games Saturday evening.

Around the house: On Friday the concrete guy came and power washed the patio and sealed it.  It doesn’t have the color variation that I had expected.  The plan is to work around the yard, attic and in the patio room this weekend.  Click image to enlarge.

Binging:  We’re about half way through season 2 of The Killing on Netflix.  It really keeps you guessing.

That’s it from B&P Headquarters in St. Louis. What’s going on in your world?
