  1. They’re both really, really good dogs. They almost never get into things they’re not supposed to have. We keep a bag of treats on the end table next to the couch and they could tear into it so easily but that’s never happened. They don’t chew on things they’re not supposed to have. Gus doesn’t play with toys at all while Trixie always has a couple she’s playing with or chewing on. When we go to bed Gus wants to chew on my hands (playfully) but that’s really the extent of his playing. Once in a great while he would do play-fight with Trixie, which she loves, but only for maybe 30 seconds or so, then he’s done.

When I get home from being out for a couple of hours Trixie is jumping and whining with excitement like I’ve been gone for weeks. Gus has gotten into the habit of jumping up on me too, but I don’t think he knows why he’s excited. He’s just doing it because Trixie does it and he thinks he’s supposed to be excited.

That being said, I think Gus has come a long way from when we first got him. He now goes in and out of doors with maybe just a little trepidation sometimes. Pat was saying just the other day how much his tail is wagging these days when it used to be tucked between his legs most of the time. He’s come a long way even if he is a little weirdy. 🙂

  2. I’m honestly very impressed with what a great dog daddy you always are. I come here daily, and have for years and years, but hardly ever comment, but I wanted you to know that I think the love and kindness you show for those two says a lot about who you are as a man.
Also, I still run across the picture of you holding the older phone every once in a while. I told my daughter about it and she was just floored that I knew and ACTUAL MEME!

    • Thanks for the kind words, Alannah. I run across that photo occasionally too. It’s rather funny that a silly photo has taken on a life of its own.

  3. I love seening pictures of Gus & Trixie. My 2 dogs are totally different personalities also and thats the best part of having them.
