B&P turned 12 yesterday

It was twelve years ago yesterday that the very first post  appeared on Bits & Pieces.

12

Thanks to all of you who visit –  whether you stop by every once in a while or whether you’re here several times a day.  Thanks especially to those who take time to comment.  For without you this site would not exist.   Thank you.

  1. Happy birthday to you,
    You live in a shoe,
    You look like a monkey,
And you smell like one too!

    Interesting Trivia:
    – I think the last time I sang that was when I was 12.
    – I’m still not entirely convinced I’m not falling prey to an April Fool’s joke.

  2. Thanks for keeping it interesting, Jon!

I remember finding your site for the first time several years ago. Syndicated Radio Host Neal Boortz linked to one if your posts in his newsletters.

    Here’s to many more years!
    Bill

    • Thanks Bill for mentioning Neal Boortz. I have often wondered how I wandered in here and I’m thinking that I got here the same way that you did…I wish that he had not retired.

  3. I just want to say that it’s rewarding to be a very small part of your successful site during the last few years. Thanks. And the same wish: here’s to many more years!

  4. I don`t comment much but try and stop by once a day, you have a wonderful website here. THANK YOU for taking the time to make it happen

  5. Happy Anniversary, not saying I’ve been here from the start, but it had to be close. I got my first PC in 2001 and a little booklet came with it title “1001 interesting websites”. Some how I found “Presurfer” by that and later Gerard had you and J-Walk on his “Recommended Blogs” list. An added note; all four of us old farts are about the same age.

  6. Thank you for all the entertainment, diversion, laughs and smiles. A lot of good sites came and went, it’s hard to constantly be finding new things, I came to you either via the Presurfer, or by Hanan Levin’s much missed ‘Growabrain’. And I stop by most days… I’m a masterclass-level procrastinator on my own blog, which makes me respect you even more.

I wish you all the best for the future!

  7. Happy Birthday B&P!

I think I’ve been hanging around here for over well over half of that time. B&P is an indispensable part of my day, and, as you know, has helped get me thru some tough times. You do great work here, and gathered some real fine people here. I look forward to seeing you and more B&Pers again someday.

Deborah said it best…. our community. Thanks, Jon!!

  8. Does this mean B&P is the longest running April Fools joke in history? Well… I hope it endures for a long time more. Thanks for the guffaws.

  9. I am fairly humbled by the fact that without me the website wouldn’t exist.

Thank you, you’re welcome and congratulations on finding me, may have may more years of it.

  10. Well, I’ve been here quite a while. I remember DJ, Mike, Richard, Scott and others would discuss the age old question, WIHI???

  11. So you started your posts on April Fool’s Day…did it start as serious, or have wee been living in a joke for 12 years???

    Happy Birthday B&P!!!!

  12. Happy Birthday B&P! Jonco long may you continue to supply us with our daily laugh. The world has become a smaller place because of this website and I feel most of you are just down the road waiting for a chat!

  13. Happy 12th Birthday B&P!! Thank you Jonco for this site! I don’t get to visit as often as I used to, but I’m definitely a happy camper when I do!
