This was the view this morning from my back porch. We have about 3 to 4 inches and 2 to 4 more inches are expected today. Less than an hour south of me has about 8 inches and are expecting a few more today. Click image to enlarge.
I would love to live in a place with a view like that
Wow, Jonco,
…looks like you could get on a ‘tube’ and ride all the way down to the river!…
….and then ……all the way to New Orleans!!
I’m glad I’m no longer young, because I’d do it!
It’s about a hundred foot drop to the river from my deck on the bluff. I don’t think I’ll be trying to ‘tube’ down that anytime soon. Maybe parachute.
Does the Mississippi ever freeze over in the STL area?
I don’t think so. They need to keep the barge traffic flowing. Every now and then you’ll hear about some boats breaking up the ice to keep a passageway open.
