Lucas Firesmith goes under the knife

LokiI’m sure B&P readers are familiar with Mike Firesmith and know of his love for animals, especially the ones he has.  His dog Lucas has a bad tumor or his face that will kill him in just a few months if nothing is done.  Lucas will undergo surgery on Tuesday at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville in a bid to try to save his life.

You can read about Mike’s decision to opt for the surgery here.   You can also make a donation on that page to help defray what are sure to be substantial medical bills.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike and Lucas during this trying time.

  1. I know from personal experience that tumor surgery for pets is very expensive. Please help Mike get through this by making a donation.

  2. Thank you.

You have no idea how much this means to me. Several people from this site have opened their hearts and their checking accounts and I am flatly overwhelmed.

This sort of generosity overwhelms me. Lucas is up and walking around at the hospital. He’s still bleeding a bit and he’s not eating yet.

    More when I know more!

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. What a beautiful baby! I love all dogs, but I have a soft spot for blue ones, and white ones. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. He looks so much like my Chaos! I’m glad to hear he’s doing well.

  4. Mike you take good care of Lucas. I’ve donated a little and will again when I can afford. My cat Wolfie under went cancer surgery 10 years ago, so he sends his well wishes as well.
