MINNEAPOLIS — During Saturday’s Gopher football game, the family of Zach Sobiech gave the University of Minnesota a check for $568,000 on behalf of their son.
Sobiech passed away three months ago from a rare form of bone cancer.
He wrote the song, “Clouds,” as a thank you to family and friends. His YouTube video of the song has more than eight million views.
Proceeds from its download on iTunes are going to the University’s Cancer Research fund.
It will go towards a prevention and cure of the cancer Sobiech was diagnosed with, osteosarcoma.
