When I was in the Marine Corps, before my first appraisal, my Commanding Officer told me I was doing a great job but if someone was going to get an Outstanding rating from him, they were going to have to walk on water. I turned on the faucet and sprayed the sidewalks and then walked across it. He shook his head and walked away. Evidently, that didn’t meet his requirements, so I didn’t get the Outstanding. Well…not that time…
