Another great tip, if you are ever boiling a batch of eggs and you lose track of which are raw or cooked simply spin them on the table. If they stop spinning quickly then the inside is liquid otherwise they would continue to spin if cooked.
You beat me to it–I was going to mention that spinning the egg is the way to tell if it is raw or hard boiled. The hard boiled one will spin but the raw one won’t.
This can sometimes be deceiving. The eggs you buy in a grocery store are usually about 4 to 6 wks. old and have a coating on the outside to prevent air penetrating through the shell. Farm fresh, as long as candled for bloodspots, have no protective cover are way healthier. Otherwise this is so true. If it floats, throw it out.
