  1. rubber band is pretty cool. i used to work for a large painting co.out of Erie,Pa and they taught us to mix real real well and pour some into another paint bucket (half full), then seal the can back up.Shake your brush back and forth a few times, it keeps all the paint on the brush and it doesn’t drip, the house needed painting not the lip of the can.

  2. I especially like the staple remover idea and using a comb to steady a nail. Some folks are really clever. Me? Not so much…

  3. Janet, I think what they were trying to accomplish was to dry the shoes without all the noise from the shoes bouncing around in the dryer. I usually try to dry mine along with a comforter, a sleeping bag, or a down jacket. The shoes keep the items fluffy, while the items help keep the noise level down. πŸ˜‰
I usually use a thin piece of cardboard, or foam rubber to hold a nail. Of course I could use my comb since I have very little hair left these days! πŸ˜€
I can hardly wait to fill up a 5 gallon bucket, using a dustpan! πŸ˜›

  4. Do not dry your shoes in the dryer. the weight of the shoe will eventually break the baffels (fins). I repair washers and dryers and am constantley replacing the baffles due to this

  5. I learned to poke holes (tap screwdriver with hammer) along the rim of the paint can to allow paint to drain there that tends to collect while you paint so it doesn’t splatter when you go to put the lid back on. But thinking about it, it may collect there b/c I’m not using a rubber band. Will def try that next time.
