B&P Meet-up in Las Vegas 2012

Las Vegas signThere seems to be some interest in B&P’ers gathering in Las Vegas next year.  The first things we need to do:

  • Pick a date
  • Come up with some sort of agenda or plan of event(s).
  • What are we gonna call this gathering?

Bella is excited about it and willing to help coordinate.

Barb Dwigher and David Grant are from the area and have offered to help out.  Any other Las Vegans out there?

We need ideas on these items.  Suggestions for dates?  What to do?  A catchy name?

What do you guys think?

  1. I’ve never been to Vegas, and it’s not someplace I want to go by myself. But I wouldn’t be by myself if the B&P-ers were there! It will depend on when it gets scheduled, but if possible I really would love to attend!

  2. Late spring or early fall. Been there 3 times in last 8 years. You do not want to be there in the summer. And they do have a winter.
This would be the first time the Canuck Buck is above the Green Back!

Now I gotta figure a way for Bella to “mule” some BC Bud.

      • “your ass”. I like it. Nice. Very subtle. I get it.
Hide the situation in plain sight.

PS. was “kickin” a typo? Because “l” is next to “k”. Just wondering….

  3. We could make this work! Get to meet all our friends from B&P and have a blast. I’m in for June, it wouldn’t be so hot. I’m a wuss.
Barb will help us with hotels/motels and staying in the same area and then we can go from there.
What would everybody like to do? We could make it a couple of days and plan it out???

    What say you?

  4. I remember Vegas as being very hot in June, but maybe if we did in early June, or in conjunction with Memorial Day.

  5. Debs? Infi? DJ? Missy S.? Mikey (kisses)? Grumpy? SCOTT? (Luvs you) BITSY….ALN, MCW?? We got almost a year to save up. I think we can make this happen.

    • Love’s to you to. if we can nail down a date early i have a time share there wife said you can use the second bedroom. but need to book vary soon to get it. im open in early June. if we do it around the 19th i get to use it as an anniversary trip with the wife. (that’s how i will sell it to her don’t know if it will work but it’s worth the try.)

  6. OH I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO down for Vegas! It gets a little warm in June but I am used to the heat. I was in Vegas one year when it snowed…. that was awesome.

I think another scott also lives in Vegas or near.

Hotels are also cheaper in the summer time. Don’t they also have that huge poker tournament in June? Definitely should be poolside for sure. They probably have tons of shows going on.

Catchy names… hmmmmm….. BITS OF VEGAS?

  7. I went to Vegas back in the 80’s it was the best vacation ever,Caesars Palace was very nice and very expensive but it was worth it

    • One caveat for you: Vegas is definitely not the same as in the ’80s. The ’80s was the transition time between Mafia Vegas and Corporate Vegas. Today it is definitely 100% Corporate Vegas. Very few freebies these days unless you gamble a lot. Even so, you can still get excellent hotel rates since they want to get you in to gamble, and there are some great deals to be found on meals and entertainment. I’ll try to dig up some more info on deals in Vegas. I may be able to arange some “locals” discounts.

  8. Debs and Chick! Chippendales are at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in June. Main floor is $63.80. I’m just lovin’ doing this Vegas research for Jonco. 😉

  9. I stayed at the MGM Grand a few years ago, fantastic hotel. The staff was great, they were attentive without being in your face, the buffet was so good. The rooms were great, we had a suite with a view of the strip. The drinks in the casino weren’t watered down, which was what we found when we went to other places. They had everything you could ask for or want without having to leave the hotel, which is, of course, what they want.

    • I’ve never been to Vegas and have wanted to go most of my life. Went to Reno with my Sweet Little Mum for 3 days but that was years ago.

I think Vegas / B&P / June 2012 would be an absolute H00T. I’m not much of a gambler (coz I’m cheap) but I’d love to see the sights. I’m from Hickville, Northern Canada and it would be like adult Disneyland.

That would be one thing crossed off my bucket list And there would be so many people that I would love to meet, including YOU

Let’s just see how many people are interested in this. Give me your thoughts, God Damnit! 😉

      • I’m not much of a gambler, the best part about gambling is the free drinks they keep bringing you. The MGM Grand actually brought decent rum and cokes, not all watered down like some of the other places we visited. Just watching the people come and go was a hoot for me, plus I met Chuck Zito in the lobby, he was very nice.
It’s not a matter of me wanting to go, I want to, I wanted to go to the last two BABBQs, it’s a matter of logistics. There are several factors I have to take care of before I can consider a trip. I have two dogs to make arrangemnts for.
I do so want to go, and I’d love to meet you Bella, I have a hunch you and I could be partners in crime, as it were.

        • You do realize that they bring you drinks while you are gambling because it makes you stupid and you bet more than you would if you were sober and make stupid mistakes at the tables/machines!

  10. I’ll pass on Chippendales and Thunder From Down Under. But for cheap entertainment there is a visit to Hoover Dam. Or we could rent the Hugh Hefner suite at the Palms, which includes 7000 square feet.

    • I totally understand your views Richard about my choice of entertainment. I was kinda thinking about the Gals (ME). I’d like to see some can-can girls and old burlesque, cirque du soleil, Cher, Bette, throw my boxer shorts at Tom Jones, 🙂 I’d be game for just about anything, including Hoover Dam. I think you can rent a helicopter at a fair price to take you over it too. Walking out there on that BIG U would be unreal. That would be friggen awesome.

      • Actually Bella, the big U (Grand Canyon Skywalk) is kind of a rip off. The views are great, but it is $30 per person PLUS you have to pay $43 per person for a Legacy Pass just to get on the reservation. Too much money for something you can see for $25 per carload at the National Park.

  11. There’s the Ethel M’s Chocolates Factory Tour in Henderson, just outside of Vegas, just this side of the dam. Not the same as the night life, but something to do during the daylight hours. Almost as tasty as your choices Bella! Yumm!

    • Dabba, I’ll have to check with Barb about that because there could be a lot of bus tour day trips that we could take too. I’m all in for the chocolate. Thanks Dabba.

    • Also, a lot of the Lake Mead/Hoover Dam bus tours start with a visit to the Ethel M (of Mars/M&Ms fame) chocolate factory. I still enjoy going there after living here for 15 years.

  12. I won’t be there, we are saving for a Queensland holiday in 2013… 🙁

I would like to see pics of DJ and Grumpy in show girl costumes and a few shots of the large chested waitress that Infi marries! This is one time when what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas! Bring on the B&P Vegas Extravaganza!

  13. Free drinks? NOT. At best you get a watered down drink, IF you have being playing for a long time. Then you have to tip the girl (always nice looking females, mostly Latinos) if you want another one.
They know you and have you sussed the moment you check in. Those little black balls on the ceiling are not for decoration.

Love Vegas, but don’t go there thinking it’s like TV or the Movies. It will take you 3 days just to “walk the strip”. That’s really good enough for 1st timers.

    Lost Wages veteran,
    grumpy

  14. I’ve been to Vegas a dozen times since my sister lives there. I’ve probably been to the strip…. maybe three times. I’ve never really experienced the whole going out in vegas thing… usually on the outskirts at my sister’s place.

    I’m also not a gambler.

There are shows for sure that I’d love to see… LOVE… DUDDDDDDDDDDDDDE… I’ve been wanting to see LOVE so bad.

So is there is a list of people now that are down to go?
