  1. Hey I have an idea. Why not do some research before making these charts. James Brown is from South Carolina. Ray Charles is from Albany, GA. The Allman Brothers are from Macon, GA. And what have been wrong with listing John Denver for New Mexico? OMG, Elvis was from Tupelo, Mississippi.

      • O.K. I read the article, but I still say that Ray Charles IS Georgia. For Christsakes, the official state song is his version of “Georgia On My Mind”…

  2. The Dropkick Murphys for Massachusetts? I guess the Houston Press has never heard of Aerosmith, The Cars, J Geils, or even the band.. Boston?!!!

  3. Texas = Buddy Holly, Bob Wills, Van Cliburn, Scott Joplin, Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Roy Orbison, and even Kinky Friedman before Willie Nelson can even be considered for an honorable mention.
