This is in Iceland. I could tell my family weren’t really looking at the statues because they all walked by it without comment. I was like wtf? A vacation highlight.
Then this is probably an Icelandic remedy for frostbite of the nose.
It’s a statue, not a tombstone; a depiction of a Norse myth by the artist Einar Jonsson. Ymir is the father of the frost giants and was nursed by the cow Auoumbla. There is a similar myth in Greek mythology of Zeus being nursed by a goat.
