I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas

Xmas snow1

We awoke to a couple of inches of snow this Christmas Eve morning.  It was coming down fast and furious and was just so beautiful.  It tapered off while we were shoveling the driveway and sidewalk.  We’re having a houseful this afternoon, evening and tomorrow so we wanted to get a head start on the snow.  After doing our driveway we went over to my daughters and works on hers.  The snow started coming down heavy again and as of 11 AM we had about 4 inches on the ground.

Gus was content to go out and do his business this morning, but Trixie wanted to stay out and play in the snow.  I walked down to the deck overlooking the river and took a few pictures.  (Click to enlarge)

  1. What a perfect scene. Here in Marionville, 30 miles west of
Springfield MO we only have light rain.

That first picture is Christmas Card quality.
Enjoy the day. and thanks for sharing.

    • The first picture is actually just a small area behing some evergreens in my front yard with some weeds from the lot next door on the left.

  2. Amazing photography. I live in Florida so I’ll never experience a
Christmas done all in white. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas

  3. Yeah, it really is beautiful. And the roads are in pretty good shape so people shouldn’t have much trouble traveling. The perfect snow!

  4. Looks good in pictures only…. we are getting close to a foot Sunday night\Monday morning. Really not looking forward to it. 🙁

    Merry Christmas everyone!!

  5. As much as I don’t like snow (go figure – I live in Connecticut), your photos are perfect. Beautiful and white…and I don’t have to deal with it! Have a great Christmas, Jonco. And thanks for sharing the pictures with us! 🙂

  6. Love your pictures. Looks beautiful.

I live about 50 miles SW of Minneapolis and we’ve had about 3-4 big snowstorms this year. A lot of people get irritated by all of the snow but as a lifelong Minnesotan, I love it. My backyard has about 2 – 2.5 feet of standing snow. It’s great for the kids. I piled up a large mound of snow with my snowblower and will dig out an igloo tomorrow for the kids.

  7. Hi all from one who is fed up with snow. As i previously stated Ireland usually doesnt get much snow but now after having this for a while. I HATE IT! we are running out of salt and grit with temp -15c in places. So please forgive this rant as i now look forward to Christmas day and a lovely Christmas dinner. Merry Christmas one and all!

  8. I live in Glendale, AZ (metro Phoenix)and it’s a sunny 64 degrees. Now, about 170 miles north, up in Flagstaff, it snowed every Christmas that I lived there. I miss the snow!

  9. Here in Puerto Rico we don’t have snow, but 10 minutes ago we had a 5.8 earthquake!!! A Holy Night we are not gonna forget…

  10. Absolutely beautiful! I’m still envying your camera & skills! Trixie has the right attitude – play – run – play some more…

  11. You guys, i have the best family ever– i had my alarm set at 8:30, got up, let the dogs out the back door, then looked out my front window and found my family shoveling the driveway for me to get out to work, I love you!!! Thanks again <3
