We went to Aerie’s Winery in Grafton Illinois yesterday for dinner with some friends. It was brisk but sunny when we got there. It was crowded so we ended up eating inside in the upstairs part of the building.
The ride along the Great River Road from Alton to Grafton was beautiful.
Aerie’s Winery sits atop a bluff overlooking the Illinois River which flows into the Mississippi River a few miles to the South (left in this picture).
There is a great view from the patio area.
There’s a similar place in the Valley of the Rhine, Germany, where the Rhine makes a nearly 360 degree meander. Places like this are just breathtaking.
That isn’t Revrick in the first pic in the red jacket, is it?
