This is the first in a series (possibly) of places I’ve been, but never saw. We just stopped by the park long enough to snap this photo and buy a T-shirt shortly before closing time this evening.
After this, and another brief shower, we rode into Bowling Green and had dinner at Mariah’s Restaurant. A very nice place with good food, but a little pricey for me.
A long day with little to show for it. But hey, I was able to purchase my senior National Park Pass. So, not a total loss.
One of the best trips I ever took involved a visit to Mammoth Caves. I’m sorry you didn’t get a chance to explore them. It’s a fascinating place.
Well, I just don’t want to see where you can’t go tomorrow! No wonder you’re getting the Seniors discount, you’re another day older…. π
I camped in that park once for a couple weeks when I was growing up! That place is really fantastic, shame you couldn’t spend some time there.
OT, but I need some help. When I try to upload a picture, I get a pop up that says “this web site is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows…” When I do so, I’m asked to enter a URL. Any computer savvy folks out there have a suggestion on fixing what ails me? Thanks, and I would like to return this thread to its original idea.

I’m not computer savvy, but i might have a clue on this one
That’s where you enter the web address of a picture to post here. If you’re wanting to use a picture from your computer, you have to upload it somewhere else then use that picture’s address to post it here. I use imageshack.com, it’s very easy to do.
the thing is, I have uploaded to B&P from my computer in the past.
Yeah, we used to. It’s a consequence of the post-hack new and improved B&P world we live in. I’m still waiting for Maffu (legend has it that Maffu actually existed) to find the pre-hack B&P archives.
Paul, what Scott said. If that fails hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys with your left hand and and hit the Delete key with your right hand. This will bring up your URL. If both of these fail, put the pic in an envelope and mail it.
Someone has been using your computer other than you. You are hosed. Shitcan it and go buy a Mac Mini.
Places I’ve never seen— ME TOO! or ME NEITHER! or I’VE BEEN THERE BUT HAVEN’T SEEN IT ALSO!
They do have a great gift shop though- the stuffed squirrels are a family favorite π
Mariah’s is great. I love the food and the rolls. But if it’s too pricey for you, the people who own it also own the Buckhead Cafe on Campbell Lane, and they serve some of the same appetizers, soups, etc. cheaper. (Though the salads don’t have the surprisingly awesome toasted blackeyed peas on them.)
If you want to eat super-cheap, though, go to Jimbo’s Grill. It’s in Buckhead Square, a few doors down from the Buckhead Cafe, and you can get a colossal handmade burger with anything you want on it (I go for grilled onions and A1), hand-cut fries, and a drink for about the same price as you’d pay at Wendy’s for more, better food.
Keep it in mind next time you’re cruising through the big B.G.
