  1. Hi. I’m from Puerto Rico and maybe I can answer your questions. In fact, this funeral home is about 15 minutes from my home.

The burial was done normally. The law here states that burials have to be done in a coffin. I asked myself how they were gonna transfer him to the coffin after. Well, the funeral home said they have an embalming technic that voids post-mortem rigidity.

To demonstrate that they opened the coffin just before the burial and moved the body’s legs and arms,(very freaky by the way) so that people didn’t say they broke bones, etc. to settle the body in the coffin. You can see the video here:

They say that they only have to give the body some massages (10 in a 1 to 10 freak scale) to accomodate the body in the coffin.

Personally I think this is a freak show. But I told specific instructions to my family that in my wake I wanna be in my favorite position. Sitting on my couch with the TV remote in one hand and scratching my behind with the other. So if you see that one day here in Bits and Pieces you’ll know that’s me.
