Safety tip for those who don’t look like the idiots slipping on ice: take short steps. When you normally walk, your center of balance moves around (well, back and forth mostly)–on dry ground, you can adjust and not fall. On ice, you slip and fall. If you take short steps, your center of balance doesn’t move–and you are unlikely to fall.
And like driving, when walking, do not make any sudden movements if possible–don’t turn sharply or stop quickly.
